GtkText question

Hi.  Is there any way to have the GTKtext widget
display text with the same spacing the terminal does? 
Unless it's a question of fonts I don't see any way to
control this, and I don't see any font switches for
the widget.  (I could have missed it, of course, so
sorry in advance if this is something I should have
see.)
