Hi,

I'm writing an application in which the user should view a file and possibly
edit it.
Do you know if there is an editor widget available?

Do you want to edit a text file or a binary file. If it's a text file, you
can use either the standard gtk textbox, or the widgets supplied by gvim
(which has gtk+ implementation) xemacs/gtk+, or probably other gtk+
editors that are implemented as widgets.

If you wish to edit a binary file, than gtk+'s hex editor might do the
trick.
