I am trying to install Scala (not the programming language, but a music scale utility) and I have been
following the instructions at http://www.huygens-fokker.org/scala/downloads.html#Mac

The pre-reqs seem to install okay, but when I try to run the Scala software, it gives me the following
error...

I’m not used to using mailing list software, so please forgive me if I have done anything wrong. I wasn’t
sure if posting images was okay!

Things I have attempted include removing any trace of MacPorts GTK using `sudo port uninstall gtk2`,
followed by installing gtk afresh using `brew install gtk`.
This appeared to complete okay, that is to say, there were no obvious errors.

I’ve also tried installing Fink and running `fink install gtk+2.
Again this appeared to run okay.

I am aware and troubled by the fact that I am presumably accumulating numerous versions of GTK, none of
which appear to have any means of deleting them.

In an ideal work, I would like to delete all traces of GTK from my machine, and then install the correct
version and then run Scala!

Does anyone know how I can get Scala to run?

This has nothing at all to do with Gtk-OSX.

The Scala developer provides his email address on the project home page with an invitation to email him if
you have problems. Do that.
