I have tried to locate instructions for uninstalling GTK on the web site and in forums. I do not see

Can someone provide instructions on the procedure to do so?
How about rm -rf <prefix>?
That assumes that you didn't foolishly set <prefix> to somewhere important like /usr/local. The default is
~/gtk, which is safe. If you did that, the only thing you can do is open a jhbuild shell and run `make
uninstall` in each build directory. Not everything has an uninstall target, so there'll be a few leftovers,
but not much.
