That bug has been marked as a duplicate of https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=655074 (there's a link on the bug, too), which has a patch.
There's another bug, https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=655122, about resizing and a crash. There's a preliminary patch on it for Gtk3 and a link to one for Gtk2, but though it fixes the crash it still has some issues on Gtk2, so I'm still working on that one.
The best solution for libiconv seems to be to not build it, at least for i386 (use --skip=libiconv on your bootstrap command line or add the equivalent to your .jhbuildrc-custom).
