I can't apply the Makefile.in patches. Makefile.in is a generated file. You'll have to convert that into something that autoconf and automake can digest... but you need to open a bug and explain why you can't just set libdir at configure time and adjust $PYTHONPATH.

The patch to cocoa-menu-item.c is just wrong. That's objective-c, and @ introduces string constants in objective-c.
