GtkIconTheme and constantly icons updating

If icon is created in directory that icon_theme have in its icon_path, and gtk_icon_theme_has_icon immidately called, it returns FALSE;
How I can force it to reload icon in such case? gtk_icon_theme_rescan_if_needed freezes my app in a second. It is not good, IMHO.
