GTK on Ubuntu 12.04 ignores the Shift modifiers in short-cut

Hi. I have a program that uses short-cuts in its menu. It all worked fine until Ubuntu 12.04, when my Shift modifiers (say, like Shift + F4) are ignored (and the pressed key combination is treated as F4). What is the problem?
