Compiling GLib on SLES 11

Hello,

an attempt to compile the GLib V. 2.32.0 on SLES 11 SP2 causes the following error by ./configure step.

checking for lock-free atomic intrinsics... no
configure: error: GLib must be build with -march=i486 or later.

I have to use default compiler gcc 4.3.4.

Is there any possibility to compile this library in this configuration?
