Cairo cross compile flags

Hi,

The foll configures fine for cairo:
./configure --prefix=/opt/asdlab/cairo/ --host=arm -build=i686-linux CC=arm-none-linux-gnueabi-gcc RANLIB=arm-none-linux-gnueabi-ranlib LD=arm-none-linux-gnueabi-ld STRIP=arm-none-linux-gnueabi-strip --enable-win32-font=no --enable-win32=no  --cache-file=arm-linux.cache --enable-ft=yes --enable-ps=no --enable-pdf=no

But when I run :
./configure --prefix=/opt/asdlab/cairo/ --host=arm -build=i686-linux CC=arm-none-linux-gnueabi-gcc RANLIB=arm-none-linux-gnueabi-ranlib LD=arm-none-linux-gnueabi-ld STRIP=arm-none-linux-gnueabi-strip --enable-win32-font=no --enable-win32=no  --cache-file=arm-linux.cache --enable-ft=yes --enable-ps=no --enable-pdf=yes

Why does the above fails with  :
checking whether cairo's PDF surface backend feature could be enabled... no (requires zlib http://www.gzip.org/zlib/)
configure: error: recommended PDF surface backend feature could not be enabled

But zlib is already installed in my machine.

Thanks,
D.Giriprasad
