I installed the packages you recommended but configure still fails
exactly the same way for me. That is:
% ./configure --without-libjasper
fails thusly:
------------------------------ Delimiter BEGIN --------------------------------
checking for XOpenDisplay... no
configure: error: *** libX11 not found. Check 'config.log' for more details.
------------------------------- Delimiter END ---------------------------------
And if I run 'configure' without any options it fails like this:
------------------------------ Delimiter BEGIN --------------------------------
checking for jas_init in -ljasper... no
configure: error:
*** Checks for JPEG2000 loader failed. You can build without it by passing
*** --without-libjasper to configure
------------------------------- Delimiter END ---------------------------------
I ran 'ldconfig' after the installations but I cannot shake the
errors ... sigh.
Let me know if you have any other ideas or suggestions.
Thanks very much in advance.
