Testing gtk GUI

Hello,

My question is a general question.
I develop an application with a GUI written in pyGTK, and I try to think
on how to test it.
What are the methods to test a GTK GUI ?
How to perform unit test from GUI events ? How to write test cases and
so on ?
Is there a tool that can help on that ? writing test, setting non
regression tests ?
