Using customised keys

Hi,
I am developing gtk application in an embedded system on arm platform with customised keys. How to activate, select, modify text box & combo box in code. How to select cursor. My application works with mouse & touch screen. But in actual scenario i have to work with customised keys.
Kindly guide me
