GdkImage

Hi,
I've been trying to get screenshots of individual windows...
I used gdk_image_get to do the same
But the problem is that, when the window is not at the front of the stacking order..
the GdkImage i get is just what i see....(its not the screenshot of the required window...but of the window at the top in the same areai requested)...
Can anyone help me by telling if there are any alternative ways to do this...(except using Xlib directly)...
