So, why don't you finally install it ?
I'd suggest Ubuntu/MEPIS - they both are derivatives of Debian, but more
user-friendly.
I recently installed the latest MEPIS just for fun/testing on my second
computer - no problems.
If you decide to go for/with MEPIS, use the DVD one:
http://www.mepis.org/node/1462 ->
ftp://ftp.wustl.edu/pub/linux/distributions/mepis/SimplyMEPIS-DVD_6.0-1_i386.iso
.
It is both live and installable DVD.
