GtkCellRendererText: single line only?

Is there any way to restrict a GtkCellRendererText to single lines, even
when the text contains newlines, or do I need to strip the newlines out?
I'm trying to avoid rows in Glom that are suddenly 100 lines high when
one cell has lots of text.
