Thanks for the tip, I installed gcc 2.95.x, but other problems showed up. Some othe pakages compiled with gcc3.4.2 barked.  

 

So I'm back to square 1.

Sorry, I was misunderstanding the page I refered.
Please try older (gcc-2.95.x).
