it is customary to show some indication that you've attempted to find an
answer to such simple, basic questions before asking a mailing list.
www.gtk.org has lots of documentation on the GTK API, and links to lots
of example source code which you are expected to make use of to find
useful, real world, working examples. if you don't understand even the
basic idea behind using GTK (or any GUI toolkit), mailing lists are not
the right place to begin.
