Pango 1.8.0 and Xft

Hello all subscribers,

I am a Mac OS X 10.3 user and I am experiencing difficulties compiling the
pango 1.8.0 with Xft support. The configure script runs just fine and it
backends: FreeType X Xft
When I run make I get the following error:

My freetype version is 9.7.3 and fontconfig is 2.2.98
