configure problem, when installing a program

Hi,
When I "configure" a program it say it need
"glib 2.0.0" and "gtk+ 2.0" or higher, but I already
installed glib 2.2 and gtk+2.4 ... How can I say to
program the libs are installed?
I already have glib 1.2 too.
