Update a drawing area bye a button

Hi,

here is my problem :
I put some random pixel on a pixmap by clicking a button, but the
refresh method "expose_event" is not call. So i tried to sent it
signal "expose_event" but i did not succeed. 
I m under MacOSX 10.3 with g++-3.3 and gtk 1.2.10!

Am I on the rigth way or not ? help me ...
