Drag and drop behaviour

I'm not sure this is the right list to discuss this. Please correct me 
if I'm wrong.

I miss badly the old drag and drop behaviour where the dragged text was 
removed from its precedent location. Would it be possible to have both 
behaviours, one with dragged text removed and another one with dragged 
text left in place?
