Compiling gtk 2.4.13

Hi Fellows,

I'm trying to compile gtk 2.4.13, but at certain time at the
compilation I have the following error :

/root/gtk+-2.4.13/gdk/.libs/libgdk-x11-2.0.so: undefined reference to
`pango_xft_get_context'
/root/gtk+-2.4.13/gdk/.libs/libgdk-x11-2.0.so: undefined reference to
`pango_xft_font_get_type'
/root/gtk+-2.4.13/gdk/.libs/libgdk-x11-2.0.so: undefined reference to
`pango_xft_render'
./.libs/libgtk-x11-2.0.so: undefined reference to
`pango_xft_set_default_substitute'
./.libs/libgtk-x11-2.0.so: undefined reference to `pango_xft_substitute_changed'
collect2: ld returned 1 exit status


All right, I know it's an error when trying to link to some library,
but do anybody know how can I solve it ??? What is missing ? Must I
compile any of the "dependencies" (pango, atk, Xft) in any special way
?
