Because compiling a program is not installing a program.

Trivial is context sensitive. Something which is trivial for a daily
hacker, might not be trivial for my mom...
- Things are certainly not perfect, but as previouly said build systems
like garnome, are definitly an improvement !
- Be kind and gentle. If you want to improve things make a bug report,
or send patches.
But please, stop this thread and let valuable hackers like Sven and Owen
work on bugfixing and improving the toolkit / desktop YOU use.
Those guys are working for you, never forget it.
You should be thanking them instead of whining.
