Re: why is gtk install so difficult?

i must admit, it is hard to install.
below is what happens when i make gtk 2.2.4 running:
./configure PKG_CONFIG_PATH=/usr/lib/pkgconfig \
LD_LIBRARY_PATH=/etc/ld.so.conf


i installed the following dependencies without
problem:
fontconfig-2.2.0
zlib-1.1.4
tiff-v3.5.7
pkgconfig-0.15.0
pango-1.2.5
libpng-1.2.5
libiconv-1.9.1
atk-1.2.4
freefont
i also have exif (latest) installed.
libjpeg, is on my system from a rpm.

anything else i need, to make the make to compile with
the png images?
