compilation problem

Hi all,

I am trying to upgrade from gtkmm 1.2 to gtkmm 2.2.
To do so, I am trying to install gtk+-2.2.0
I have installed the required versions of pkgconfig and glib.  I have 
redhat7.3

When I try to compile gtk+-2.2.0  ./configure --prefix=/usr seems to 
work fine, but then in make I get
libtool: link: cannot find the library 
`../..//usr/lib/pkgconfig/glib/libglib-2.0.la'

Any idea of what shall I do?
