Problems with older version

   Hello,

 When I want to compile and install gtk+-2.2.1 using Red Hat 8.0 the PC 
give me o lot of error messages about versions of the program.

 I was reading about and trying to change older version of gtk for this 
but I wasn't lucky.

 I'm thinking about remove all old gtk components and begin again.

 Please, someone can tell me other way or if I'm wrong?
