I think what's going on is that -lXft is picking up Xft1 instead
of Xft2. You basically have two options:

 1) Remove /usr/include/X11R6/libXft.so from your system.
 2) Rename the libXft.so that fcpakcage installs to 
    libXft2.so and edit the pkg-config file for Xft
    (xft.pc) to specify -lXft2 not -lXft.
