Contextual menus and realtime graphics

Hi all

I will soon  be interessted with contextual menus,  what is the concerned 
widget ? (or a source/tutorial/doc that can explain me)

Then I'll need to put in my window some realtime graphic stuff, what is the 
best widget available (I mean, is there a Xshm widget available, is there 
some DGA stuff available through gtk, etc etc ?)
