Hi,
in the end I tried the following:
# ./configure --without-libjpeg --without-libtiff
and then with gmake:
[snip]
/usr/bin/nm gdk-pixbuf.o gdk-pixbuf-animation.o gdk-pixbuf-data.o
gdk-pixbuf-io.o gdk-pixbuf-loader.o gdk-pixbuf-scale.o gdk-pixbuf-util.o
gdk-pixdata.o gdk-pixbuf-enum-types.o pixops/.libs/libpixops.al | | sed
's/.* //' | sort | uniq > .libs/libgdk_pixbuf-2.0.exp
../libtool[3172]: syntax error at line 1 : `|' unexpected
gmake[3]: *** [libgdk_pixbuf-2.0.la] Error 2
gmake[3]: Leaving directory `/data/packages/gtk+-2.0.5/gdk-pixbuf'

gmake[1]: *** [all-recursive] Error 1

gmake: *** [all-recursive-am] Error 2
anybody knows what 'nm' is doing?
Martin
