Hi,
I'm trying to compile gtk1.2.10 and after getting glib
installed properly, make fails for gtk with the following warning:

.libs/libgtk.so: undefined reference to `_Xsetlocale'
collect2: ld returned 1 exit status
      make[2]: *** [testgtk] Error 1
      make[2]: Leaving directory `/data1/Installed/GTK/gtk+-1.2.10/gtk'
      make[1]: *** [all-recursive] Error 1
      make[1]: Leaving directory `/data1/Installed/GTK/gtk+-1.2.10'
      make: *** [all-recursive-am] Error 2
I made some research and found that the problem seems
to be known, as several people posted message for this
problem but did not always get a reply.
I've cleaned my system from any previous installation
of gtk and glib: rpm and libraries in /usr/lib. I
ran ldconfig, but I'm still having the same problem.
I saw this comment about --with-locale in the configuration
but does not fully understand it.
Could it be the problem ? Any idea ?
Thanks for your reply.
Michel
