Could I use gdk-pixbuf library with Gtk+1.2 project?

Hi all:
   As title, I want load image data with gdk-pixbuf
API, but my project create by Glade is using Gtk+1.2,
and I didn't tranfer my project into Gtk+2.0 yet, so
is it is posible using gdk-pixbuf with Gtk+1.2 and
how?
