problems with building glib

Hi,

I have problems with building current version of glib.

What I do:
1) cvs -z3 checkout glib
2) autogen.sh

I get the message below when 2) is running.
.......
./configure: line 600: syntax error near unexpected token
`AM_INIT_AUTOMAKE($PACKAGE,'
./configure: line 600: `AM_INIT_AUTOMAKE($PACKAGE, $VERSION, no-define)'

What am I doing wrong?
