how to install gtk on solaris?

i found that gtk can be installed on linux & AIX,now i want to install it on solaris and had tried some times but failed. the process of installing was successfull,but when i tried to install some applications which need gtk,the system told me that it couldn't find gtk. what's wrong? Please help me.thx.
