It  looks  like  you  the  XFree86's  devel packages aren't installed.
That's  a  very  common  problem  when  compiling  Gtk+,  and probably
documented  (Am  I  wrong  ?).  In  Debian,  it's  called  xlib6g  and
xlib6g-devel  (so, apt-get install xlib6g xlib6g-devel ). In Mandrake,
I  think  this  is  XFree86-Devel. In other distros, I don't know. But
probably a X*devel package.
