Size of gtk combo-box

I have  got a problem  using gtkcombobox. When I  open it, it  does grow
till the bottom  of the montor showing  me as many rows  as possible. Is
there a way to set the number of  the rows when it is opened or is there
a way of setting it so that it  doesn't goes out of the window it is put
in?
Having a little window and a huge combobox out of it isn't very pretty..
