Sounds like a problem with the way you attached the
signal handler, or else the function isn't of the right
prototype.
First, you should compile with gcc -Wall
as this will probably point out the trouble. If it doesn't
go into gdb and do a backtrace to see what's causing
the trouble.
That's all the help I can give until I know more...but try
the -Wall first, I think that will tell you what's up.
