Problem ..pleae help me ..!

Hi I am relatively new to Gtk ..! When I wrote a small program in gtk +
and executed it ..I got a message whivh said "segmentation fault core
dumped " I seem to be getting this error for all the programs I wrote ..!
Although the program executes and the small window with the button
appears ..when I try to press the button ..which is supposed to say "Hi "
at the terminal ..stops executing and give the above message" segmen...."
.I use RH 6.0 with gnome ..! 
please help me regarding this problem ..!
