Foreign Language Support

Greetings from Czech Republic!
Every application can write czech iso8859-2 characters. My problem is that my GTK applications can not get some special czech characters from keyboard input. For example: I can write English words in the ENTRY widget, but not czech letters "ì, š, è, ø, ž"! (other applications work perfectly).
Is there somebody, who can help me? Please!
