Hi,
The versions work much like the Linux kernel. Even first two numbers
(1.0, 1.2) are stable releases. Odd numbers (1.1, 1.3) are unstable.
Stable means that the features and interfaces don't change within a
series. For example, 1.2.0 and 1.2.6 have the same features. However,
1.2.6 has a lot of bug fixes that 1.2.0 doesn't have.
The development versions change a lot. For example, 1.3.0 and 1.3.1 might
have different features and they might be incompatible. Furthermore, they
are probably buggy. When 1.3 is stable (features are frozen and bugs are
gone), it will be renamed to 1.4.
So in short, you should use the highest version in the 1.2.x series, right
now 1.2.6 I think. When 1.4.0 appears, you will probably want to use that.
Havoc
