i second this wholeheartedly. its incredibly annoying. it tends to be
even worse, for some reason, when the submenu popups up to the left
instead of the right because of the WM workspace edges. i am not sure
why i think this - i'll try to run GIMP today and see if i can pin
down what gets worse.
