You fiddled with the CFLAGS, can you tell how you fiddled with it? It is
also possible that you installed GTK in /usr/local, so that's were it
expects its theme engines (libredmond95.so is a theme engine). Install GTK
in /usr, or (better because it doesn't mess with rpm's configuration)
recompile and reinstall gtk-engines in /usr/local to solve this.
