This is exactly what somebody else in my group showed me an hour ago.
Seems that I have been using it for over a month without knowing it: he
put it in a project we both work on (CVS is a great tool). I'm not quite
sure which allocator he used, it is possible that he used his own
implementation which he created years ago on DOS and which he ported to
almost every OS he could lay his hands on.
