Is there a grid for strings in GTk?

Is there something like a grid in GTk+ where strings/images can be
displayed and edited in each individual cell? This would be useful 
for example for showing the rows of a database table. In Delphi there
is a component/widget called stringgrid serving that purpose, which
I have found very useful.
