gtk config / system config question.

i've downloaded and installed gtk1.0.6 on my system
(Redhat5.2/KDE/XFree86) and everything went smoothly.

helloworld.c and the other examples compile fine but give the following
error when i try to run them:

./helloworld: error in loading shared libraries
: undefined symbol: __register_frame_info

looks like i'm missing a package or something.  i have the following
installed:

XFree86-libs-3.3.2-16
XFree86-devel-3.3.2-8

any help would be appreciated--i'm anxious to get some code written...
