[gtk-list] still need help

no one yet has said anything on this.

gcc -Wall -g helloworld.c -o hello_world `gtk-config --cflags` \
`gtk-config --libs`

on the first tutorial is giving me an error of:
gcc: -L/usr/lib file not found

anyone know why or how to fix it? i would really like to start writing
some gtk+ apps but i can't if it wont compile em ;-) when i use a
makefile (with downloaded source) it works fine.
