subpixmaps from a big pixmap

Hi,

I would like to keep all my pixmaps in a big pixmap and extract them
from that big one. For instance, to combine 5 pixmaps of 10x20 in a
pixmap of 10x100. Load the big one and split it internaly in 5
GdkPixmaps. How can this be done in the simplest way ?
