Compilation GTK+1.2.3

I have uncompressed the two files for Glib et Gtk 1.2.3 in /usr/local
Compiling Glib is OK but when i try with GTK there are somes errors.
 Configure is like that :
	./configure --x-include=/usr/X11R6/iclude --x-libraries=/usr/X11R6/lib

The error message is :
	checking for XOpenDisplay in -lX11... no
	configure: error: *** libX11 ,ot found. Check 'config.log' for more
detail.

I have a Linux RedHta 5.2 on my system.
