While we're making suggestions :-), you can also check out diacanvas at
http://web.inter.nl.net/hcc/klem/diacanvas.html
It does different primitive objects using a gdk or eps renderer (i.e. it
can print) and can zoom. It is still being developed, so tell the author
what features you want before it's too late ;-)
