documentation on GtkArg?

Is there any documentation on the usage of GtkArg.

I am trying to find out and set the width of widgets that are
attached in a table. ( I intend to make two tables the same 
size ). I was trying to do this by examining the LEFT_ATTACH, 
RIGHT_ATTACH arguments to find the maximum width and then set 
the the child widget's width. Should I be going about this in 
a different way?
